A magical parenthesis…

A centuries-old witness to the French art of living, Château Borgeat de Lagrange welcomes you for a stopover of luxurious serenity or a stay accompanied by exclusive escapes between nature and tradition.

A collection of services awaits you, as playful as they are didactic.

Our Rooms and Suites

The rooms of the Château Borgeat de Lagrange, located in Blaye, are all distinguished by their very particular style. "Cavath", "Aunéor", "Félir", "Liquard", "Les Civelles"… each with its personality and charm bears the name of one of the wines of Maison Borgeat.

Cavath

Crossing and bright, the Cavath suite immediately seduces with its wide spaces. The kitchen area in the tower is a real invitation to a culinary journey.

Admiring the panorama by its majestic windows, the most attentive will be seduced by the shade of the machicolations of the castle tower that the sun draws on the park at tea time.

Felix

Authentic and eternal, this suite of the Castle has preserved all the charms of a bygone era. The intly carved secular bed coexists with the wardrobe and the dark bedside dating from the first owners of the premises.

A lion's head enthroned above the fireplace reminds us of the timeless coat of arms of the Marquise.

Aunéor

Welcoming and elegant, Aunéor symbolizes sharing.

This baroque trend is thus united with the nobility of its waxed period furniture, the comfort of the large bed and its ruby red bathroom.

Liquard

Here time seems to have stopped, freezing the serenity of a name in a soft and magical atmosphere. The landscape of pretty period embroidery combined with the frames and finely gilded mirror draws a universe of tenderness for a stay in all serenity.

Les Civelles

Les Civelles is a real invitation to travel. Journey to the estuary, of course, like June Liquard's collections that illustrate its walls.

Fa-bu-leux. Very nice place, very good welcome. Charming, for those who like calm and non-standardized. We hope to come back to it one day.

Georges

We had an unforgettable stay at the castle. It is very well located, close to the citadel of Blaye and in the heart of the vineyard. We enjoyed the pool and the wooded park. Thank you to the hosts for their availability and advice on the area, as well as for their wine tasting!

Charlotte

The experience of living in a castle really changed our holiday in Bordeaux. The value for money is interesting when comparing with other places. The rooms are nice, the hosts also live on site but it did not bother us, they were very good advice!

Arts & Culture

The citadel of Blaye. Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008, the Citadel of Blaye was built under the supervision of Vauban, famous engineer and architect of the seventeenth century. The citadel is a total of 38 hectares and consists of Fort Pâté and Fort Médoc on the Gironde estuary.

The Museum of Art and History. Stroll through the alleys of the citadel where you will find many restaurants, arts and crafts workshops. Take the opportunity to visit the Museum of Art and History of the Blayais country, open all year round. Formerly a civil and military prison, then transformed into a bakery in the nineteenth century, the museum now houses 7000 years of history of the citadel and the city of Blaye.

Activités extérieures

The vineyard of Blaye. The vineyard of Blaye is, contrary to what one might think, older than that of the Médoc. Indeed, Blaye and Bourg were important wine ports in the Middle Ages while on the other side of the Gironde, villages such as Pauillac or Margaux lived from livestock farming.

River walks to discover the estuary.

 Discovery of the new island.

The road to the flowered cornice. Very nice little road that runs along the estuary, we discover very beautiful houses, small gardens and tiles so specific to the region.

Gallo-Roman villa of Plassac. The archaeological site of Plassac is classified as a Historical Monument. There are the remains of three villas erected from the 1st century BC.

Excursions

Walk in 2CV. Visits to the Citadel, the city center of Blaye and the Blayais vineyard in this mythical car is an experience apart! To book in advance with our team.

BAC Blaye-Lamarque. To do to cross the river towards the Médoc. In good weather, the crossing is enchanting and takes only 20 minutes.
